About the course

This is NEBOSH's construction certificate, studied by self-study distance learning. NEBOSH replaced its National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety with Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK), and that's the qualification you work towards.

It suits site managers, supervisors and safety advisers whose hours on site make fixed course dates difficult. You can study from home in the evenings or at weekends, anywhere in South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire or beyond.

The course covers CDM 2015 duties, risk assessments and method statements, and the hazards that matter most on site: work at height, excavations, demolition, plant and work equipment, fire, electricity and health risks such as dust, noise and vibration. Holders can apply for the CSCS Academically Qualified Person card, which also needs a pass in the CITB Managers and Professionals Health, Safety and Environment test.

Prefer a tutor-led course with fixed dates? Our NEBOSH Construction Certificate also runs live online.

How distance learning works

  1. 1

    Enrol any day

There are no course dates. Enrol online and start when it suits you.

  2. 2

    Study at your own pace

Fit your study around work and home, with 12 months' online access.

  3. 3

    Take your assessment

Sit your assessment when you're ready. Pass, and you receive your certificate.

Enrol and start on any day. Study the online material at your own pace, with a tutor to help when you need it. When you're ready, you sit NEBOSH's assessment on one of its set dates: a single digital open-book assessment based on a construction scenario, completed within a set window and submitted online. A NEBOSH examiner marks it.
