About the course

The ECITB Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Erecting Steelwork Components is for steel erectors working in engineering construction: the industry that builds and maintains industrial sites such as power, process and manufacturing plants.

Your evidence comes from your own work erecting steelwork: preparing to work safely at height, positioning, aligning and connecting steel components, and working as part of a lifting and erection team.

It's assessed on your job, with no classroom days. Your assessor observes your work and reviews the evidence you gather. Experienced erectors who move into more complex lifting and installing work can go on to the ECITB Level 3 Diploma in Steel Erecting.

Who it's for

Steel erectors working in engineering construction who need a recognised Level 2 qualification.

Does it lead to a CSCS card?

Do I need to be working as a steel erector?

Yes. It's assessed on your own work, so you need to be erecting steelwork while you complete it.
