ProQual / Level 2
For multi-trade maintenance operatives doing repairs and refurbishment across several trades. A Level 2 NVQ assessed on your own jobs, for the Blue CSCS card.
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Building Maintenance Multi-Trade Repair and Refurbishment Operations is for operatives who turn their hand to several trades: carpentry repairs, tiling, plastering patches, decorating and basic plumbing. It suits housing repairs, voids and facilities maintenance teams.
Your evidence comes from your day-to-day work, on sites in Sheffield, Doncaster or anywhere else. Typical evidence: before-and-after photos of repairs, the job tickets you completed, and statements from your supervisor or repairs manager.
An NVQ has no dates to book. You pay in full online, we register you, and your assessor agrees an evidence plan with you and reviews it as you go. Typically it takes 6 to 8 weeks from start to finish.
Once you've achieved it, you can apply for the CSCS Blue Skilled Worker card, which is valid for five years. CSCS also asks that you've passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test at the level for your occupation within the last two years.

You're assigned an assessor who plans your NVQ with you and guides you through it.
Gather evidence from the work you already do: documents, photos, reports and witness statements.
Your assessor reviews your evidence and confirms you meet each standard of the qualification.
Once you're signed off you receive your certificate and can apply for the CSCS card that goes with it.
An NVQ has no venue to travel to. It's assessed on the work you already do, so it suits site teams anywhere in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, North Derbyshire and beyond, with no time off site.

Usually, yes. If you've worked as a maintenance operative for at least a year in the last three and you're registered on the NVQ, CSCS offers an Experienced Worker card. It lasts one year and can't be renewed, so the idea is to finish the NVQ in that time and then apply for the Blue Skilled Worker card. You'll need the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test at the right level either way.
Yes, as long as you're working in the trade and can show evidence from real jobs. Witness statements can come from someone who has seen your work, such as the site supervisor or the contractor you're working for. Your assessor will tell you what's acceptable before you start collecting.
Typically 6 to 8 weeks. The biggest factor is how quickly you gather the evidence: if you're working as a maintenance operative every day and send photos and statements as you go, it moves quickly.
