ProQual / Level 2
For demolition operatives who need an industry NVQ for their CCDO demolition card. Assessed on the strip-out and demolition work you already do.
The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Demolition is for operatives who strip out, dismantle and demolish structures safely. The CCDO card scheme used in demolition asks for an industry-relevant NVQ, and this is the Level 2 one for operatives.
Your evidence comes from real jobs on your own sites around Sheffield and Rotherham. Typical evidence: photos of soft strip, segregation and dismantling work you've done, the method statements and demolition plans you worked to, and statements from your supervisor or chargehand.
It doesn't take you off site. Once you've enrolled and paid online, we register you and an assessor guides you through the portfolio. Most of the time goes on collecting evidence; the whole NVQ typically takes 6 to 8 weeks.
The NVQ doesn't expire. CCDO cards also need the demolition Health, Safety and Environment test, an approved asbestos awareness course and a card-specific CCDO course, so check the current rules with the National Demolition Training Group.
Demolition and strip-out operatives working for a demolition contractor who need a Level 2 NVQ for the CCDO scheme.
An NVQ has no course dates. You prove you're competent with evidence from the work you already do, with an assessor guiding you from start to finish.
Enrol and pay online. We register you for the qualification.
You're assigned an assessor who plans your NVQ with you and guides you through it.
Gather evidence from the work you already do: documents, photos, reports and witness statements.
Your assessor reviews your evidence and confirms you meet each standard of the qualification.
Once you're signed off you receive your certificate and can apply for the CSCS card that goes with it.
An NVQ has no venue to travel to. It's assessed on the work you already do, so it suits site teams anywhere in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, North Derbyshire and beyond, with no time off site.

The CCDO scheme has accepted applicants who have the NVQ or are registered and working towards it, alongside its own test and courses. Rules change, so check with the National Demolition Training Group before you apply.
Typically 6 to 8 weeks. The biggest factor is how quickly you gather the evidence: if you're working as a demolition operative every day and send photos and statements as you go, it moves quickly.
No. An NVQ is assessed on the work you do, so there are no course dates or classroom sessions. Our venue at Bradmarsh Business Park in Rotherham is used for CITB classroom courses such as SSSTS and SMSTS; for the Level 2 NVQ in Demolition the evidence comes from your own jobs.
