About the course
This is Pathway 6, Acoustic Packages and Frames Installer, of the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Specialist Installation Occupations. It's for acoustic installers whose work is installing acoustic systems and the frames that carry them, and it gives you a recognised Level 2 qualification for a specialist trade that often has no obvious NVQ.
Your evidence comes from your current sites across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire. Typical evidence: photos of acoustic frames, panels and packages you've installed, the drawings and system details you worked to, and statements from your supervisor.
An NVQ has no dates to book. You pay in full online, we register you, and your assessor agrees an evidence plan with you and reviews it as you go. Typically it takes 6 to 8 weeks from start to finish.
Once you've achieved it, you can apply for the CSCS Blue Skilled Worker card, which is valid for five years. CSCS also asks that you've passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test at the level for your occupation within the last two years.

Is the Acoustic Packages and Frames Installer pathway the right one for me?
Choose it if most of your work is installing acoustic systems and the frames that carry them. The same qualification also comes in Architectural Metalwork Installer pathways, each with its own page. If your work spans more than one, ask us before you enrol and we'll check the pathway against what you actually do.
Can I get a CSCS card while I'm still working towards the Level 2 NVQ in Specialist Installation (Acoustic Packages and Frames Installer)?
Usually, yes. If you've worked as a acoustic installer for at least a year in the last three and you're registered on the NVQ, CSCS offers an Experienced Worker card. It lasts one year and can't be renewed, so the idea is to finish the NVQ in that time and then apply for the Blue Skilled Worker card. You'll need the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test at the right level either way.
Do I have to come to your Rotherham venue?
No. An NVQ is assessed on the work you do, so there are no course dates or classroom sessions. Our venue at Bradmarsh Business Park in Rotherham is used for CITB classroom courses such as SSSTS and SMSTS; for the Level 2 NVQ in Specialist Installation (Acoustic Packages and Frames Installer) the evidence comes from your own jobs.
