The Solid pathway of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering, for experienced plasterers doing complex solid work. Assessed on your own jobs, for the Gold CSCS card.
This is the Solid pathway of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering. It's for plasterers working at advanced craft level: complex internal plastering, external render systems, running mouldings in situ and repairs to older buildings.
Your evidence comes from the work you're doing now, from Doncaster and Barnsley to Chesterfield. Typical evidence: photos of complex plastering, render and mouldings you've produced, the specifications you worked to, and statements from your supervisor or client.
You don't sit in a classroom for this one. Enrol and pay online, and we register you and assign your assessor, who tells you exactly what to collect. Expect it to take typically 6 to 8 weeks if you keep the evidence coming.
A construction-related Level 3 NVQ is what CSCS asks for before it issues the Gold Skilled Worker card. You'll also need to have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test at the level for your occupation within the last two years. The Gold card is valid for five years.
If you're already running a team, the usual next steps are the Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Work Supervision and CITB's SSSTS, which runs in our Rotherham classroom and live online.
Experienced solid plasterers working at an advanced level who need a Level 3 NVQ for the Gold CSCS card.
An NVQ has no course dates. You prove you're competent with evidence from the work you already do, with an assessor guiding you from start to finish.
Enrol and pay online. We register you for the qualification.
You're assigned an assessor who plans your NVQ with you and guides you through it.
Gather evidence from the work you already do: documents, photos, reports and witness statements.
Your assessor reviews your evidence and confirms you meet each standard of the qualification.
Once you're signed off you receive your certificate and can apply for the CSCS card that goes with it.
An NVQ has no venue to travel to. It's assessed on the work you already do, so it suits site teams anywhere in Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley, North Derbyshire and beyond, with no time off site.

Besides the Level 3 NVQ, CSCS asks that you've passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the last two years, at the level set for your occupation. Use the card finder on the CSCS website to check the test level for plasterers. The Gold Skilled Worker card is valid for five years.
Yes, as long as you're working in the trade and can show evidence from real jobs. Witness statements can come from someone who has seen your work, such as the site supervisor or the contractor you're working for. Your assessor will tell you what's acceptable before you start collecting.
Typically 6 to 8 weeks. The biggest factor is how quickly you gather the evidence: if you're working as a plasterer every day and send photos and statements as you go, it moves quickly.
